The beginning of the museum route tells the story of the origins of the Jewish community of Girona. We accompany the Jewish People from ancient times, following them throughout their journeys and migrations. Beginning with the persecutions during the Roman Empire, the Jewish People spread across the Mediterranean in a continuous journey. The first families settled in the city as early as the 9th century, establishing a community with its own distinct identity and way of life.
