The interpretation of this section presents the Jewish Quarter from a "bird's-eye view". Jewish quarters were distinctive urban units in several towns and cities of medieval Catalonia. Narrow streets, houses, workshops and craft premises (including bakeries and slaughterhouses), shops and ritual buildings (the synagogue and ritual baths) formed an urban fabric that provided the conditions for Jewish life to develop in accordance with religious precepts.
