Joseph, one of the most common names among the medieval Jewish people in Girona, was probably only a child when he died. The epitaph makes this clear with the words "young of delights". We have no other information about his family apart from the name of his father, Rabbi Jacob, who has not been identified in archival records.
Translation:
Gravestone of the nice young
of delights
Joseph, may he rest in Eden, son of Rabbi
Jacob, may his Rock and his Savior guard him.
