The "lady" Dolsa bears a name very common among medieval Catalan Jewish women. She was married or widowed, but we cannot state definitively that Abrabalia is her husband's name. If the hypothesis is correct, she would belong to the Ravaia family (Abrabalia in Hebrew), the most prominent family of Jewish Girona. This powerful family settled in Catalonia in the 13th century, coming from Castile. Among the women of the Ravaia family we also find a Bonafilla, daughter of N'Astruc Ravaia, who in 1283 worked as a moneylender without, apparently, needing any male reference to practise this profession.
