No documentation has been found regarding this person. In early 14th‑century Girona, a Hanok de Castelló, a Hanok Condom and a Hanok Cundranya are recorded, but no Hanok Saporta. The deceased's father bears a very old Girona surname, Saporta, with several variants (Porta, Saporta, ça Porta). Various men of this lineage served as secretaries and prominent figures of the aljama, but if one member stands out, it is Bonastruc Saporta, Mossé ben Nahman, the most important Talmudic authority of the 13th century. Additionally, in 1305, a Jewish man from Barcelona named Shaltiel de Porta, son of Vidal de Porta, sold two Christians an annual census on a plot of land located on the mountain of Girona.

Translation:
Here lies the illustrious Rabbi Hanok, [son of] R[abbi] Shaltiel Saporta, may the memory of him live in the world to come. Year five thousand and seventy-two
of the Creation. May peace be upon him. May he rest in his grave. Amen.
