Commemorative event
The International Day of Commemoration in memory of the victims of the Holocaust takes place every January 27, the date of the liberation of the concentration and extermination camp of Auschwitz-Birkenau in 1945. In order to renew the fight against racism, antisemitism, and all forms of intolerance and violence against any group of people, the United Nations General Assembly resolution 60/7 of 2005 calls on governments worldwide to commemorate this date annually.
The Museum of Jewish History will participate in this remembrance once more, hosting a commemorative event on January 29 at 19:30 in Girona City Council's Plenary Hall.
The event will feature the interventions of Ricard Valentí, president of the Rromanipe’s association and researcher of the history of the Gypsy People, and of Daniela Rosenfeld, director of the Barcelona Jewish Film Festival, and researcher of the history of the Shoah and the Jewish People.
Open event. It is advised to register in advance.
