Audiovisual Heritage Day

In 2005, UNESCO proclaimed October 27 as the World Day for Audiovisual Heritage with the aim of raising awareness among governments, public administrations and the general public about the need to safeguard audiovisual heritage as part of the collective memory of societies.

The Girona City Council, through the Image Research and Dissemination Centre (CRDI) and the Cinema Museum, has celebrated this day continuously since 2007 by organizing various activities and creating valuable resources related to the study and dissemination of audiovisual heritage.

The various initiatives promoted by organizations around the world can be consulted on the official World Day for Audiovisual Heritage (WDAH) website hosted by the CCAAA (Co-ordinating Council of Audiovisual Archives Associations).
