Introduction

Since 2006, the Document Management, Archives and Publications Service has organized the annual series “Conferences at the Municipal Archive.” This series is part of the service’s broader objective of promoting and disseminating historical knowledge about the city of Girona, especially research based on the municipality’s documentary heritage.

The conferences are designed to be both rigorous and accessible. They are aimed at the general public and are free to attend.

Each year, the texts of the conferences are published in the form of small monographs intended to serve as reference material for both students and the general public. At the same time, these texts can be freely downloaded from the service’s website at no cost.
