Photoconsortium is an association created within the framework of the European project EuropeanaPhotography (2012–2015) in order to ensure the continuity of a consortium responsible for photographic heritage.
PHOTOCONSORTIUM, the International Consortium for Photographic Heritage, is a non-profit association whose aim is to promote and enhance photographic culture and heritage.
Photoconsortium aims to promote, organize and manage conferences, exhibitions, awards and training courses, as well as publications. The association participates and encourages its members to take part in new projects and initiatives, also in collaboration with third parties, including but not limited to participation in European Commission programs.
Start: 2014
The association is composed of 46 members representing 17 EU Member States. These include major public and private photographic agencies, as well as public institutions, museums and individuals.
The Centre for Image Research and Diffusion (CRDI) of the Girona City Council is a founding member of the association and has held its presidency since 2022.
