Image and Research Conference
The presentation explores the appraisal of photographic heritage as a process of cultural construction. Taking the recent establishment of the Centro Nacional de Fotografía as its starting point, it will reflect on the role that a national institution can play in the research, preservation, and activation of photographic heritage through collections, exhibitions, and collaborative networks, as well as on the challenges that digitization and contemporary visual culture pose to collective visual memory.
