The Girona History Museum conserves an excellent collection of sardana dance scores and parts, as well as a very interesting collection musical instruments of the cobla, including the tenora of the maestro Ricard Viladesau. As for the scores, some were written by women, which was not very common in the 1950's and 60's. A good example is the sardana Valenta, written and composed by Teresa Suñer in 1960. Music has always been a part of the popular activities of the city, and in particular the dances of gegants (giants) and capgrossos (big heads), which were accompanied by Agustí López, Tinet, a blind musician beloved by the people of Girona.
