The project has been made possible thanks to funding from the Girona Provincial Council.
This year, the Girona History Museum has received a grant of €1,700 from the Girona Provincial Council to fund projects involving new technologies, as part of the grant scheme for museums and collections in the Girona region.
The museum has used the grant to replace the video projector in the Comtessa Ermessenda de Carcassona auditorium.
This upgrade ensures that the technical facilities meet the requirements of the museum's scheduled activities, improves the experience for both speakers and audiences, and enhances the quality of events and the museum's institutional image.
The Comtessa Ermessenda de Carcassona auditorium was created to host a large part of the Girona History Museum's events programme, including activities organised by the museum itself and those held in collaboration with other institutions and organisations. It is located alongside the exhibition hall and can be accessed from Placeta de l'Institut Vell. The room covers an area of 58 m² and can accommodate almost 100 people.
The auditorium hosts presentations, training sessions, concerts and other cultural activities. It also features a permanent gallery of black-and-white photographs dedicated to the role of women throughout the history of the city. In addition, it has its own sound system and is the only space in the museum designated for activities that is equipped with a video projector.
The Girona History Museum's programme is noted for its quality and diversity. In 2025, events held in this room attracted more than 7,000 attendees. Lectures, presentations and commemorative events make up a significant part of the programme, making it essential to have projection equipment that meets the quality standards expected of a leading cultural institution.
The new video projector was supplied by BTM Sound, SL.
This project was carried out with the support of the Girona Provincial Council.
