Thursday, April 30, 2026

The festival, which will take place from May 9 to 17, will include the Sant Feliu bridge as a landmark location and will extend to the Pont Major neighborhood. This year's edition strengthens accessibility with calm spaces, rest areas, and a route adapted for people with reduced mobility

Girona will host a new edition of "Girona, Temps de Flors" from May 9 to 17, featuring 141 floral projects distributed across 113 locations in the city. The exhibition includes the Sant Feliu bridge as a landmark site, extends to the Pont Major neighborhood, reinforces accessibility with additional measures, and maintains the extended opening hours introduced last year.

Temps de Flors keeps the extended schedule launched last year. All spaces will be open from 9:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., although outdoor sites and some indoor locations can be visited until 11:00 p.m. on weekdays and Sunday, and until midnight on Saturdays as part of the "Flors de Nit" (Flowers at Night) initiative, which aims to enhance the festival's nighttime experience.

Among the main new features is the decoration of the Sant Feliu bridge, which joins the traditional bridges of Sant Agustí, les Peixateries Velles, and d'en Gómez. New spaces are also included in the Old Town, such as the Sant Feliu gardens (located on the Sant Feliu ascent), the fountain on the Archaeological Walk, number 2 Miquel Oliva i Prat street (in Correu Vell square), and the façade of number 2 Lluís Batlle i Prats street.

Regarding accessibility, this edition introduces two Calm Spaces: one located at CaixaFòrum and another at the Barri Vell-Mercadal Civic Center, with the collaboration of CaixaFòrum and Abacus. These spaces are especially designed for neurodivergent individuals and breastfeeding women, but are open to anyone in need of a quiet place to rest.

A Rest Area will also be set up in the garden of l'Àngel, and several areas with benches will be available along the route. The festival will also maintain an adapted itinerary for people with reduced mobility.

The Girona History Museum hosts the following floral installations: Holotropy in the Cemetery-drying room, The Water of Silence in the Cloister, Soul of the Cistern in the cistern, and Floral Union in the Carbonera.

"Girona, Temps de Flors" is organized by the Girona City Council with the direct involvement of the Friends of Flowers Association of Girona. BBVA, CaixaBank, and Freixenet return as sponsors, this time in new locations: the Church of Sant Martí, the Carbonera of the History Museum, and the Arab Baths, respectively. This year, REALE joins as a collaborator, promoting a project in the Cathedral moat.
