The History Museum of Girona hosts the presentation of the dossier “Women fighters. The role of women during Civil War' in the Magazine of Girona from July and August

The Deputation of Girona published the issue 351 (July/August 2025) of the Magazine of Girona. This number includes the dossier titled “Women fighters. The role of women during Civil War”, coordinated by Glòria Granell Nogué.

This dossier thoroughly analyses the several ways women participated in war throughout multiple articles. Women did their best to resist in a broken society, marked by violence, and had an essential and active role in many domains: from the domestic sphere to the frontline, taking care of people, and being involved in culture, education or politics.

A large audience attended the presentation of the dossier. The act consisted in a panel with Gemma Busquets, journalist, and Glòria Granell, coordinator of the dossier, and it was moderated by Gerard Bagué, director of the Magazine of Girona. Gemma Geis, vice-president of the Deputation of Girona, vice-major and first deputy major at the Area of Economic Promotion and Juridical Services of the City Hall of Girona, and Sílvia Planas, director of the History Museum of Girona, participated in the panel as well.
