You can discover the wines of the Espelt de Vilajuïga and Vinyes dels Aspres de Cantallops wineries on Tuesday, June 10, on the terrace and in the air raid shelter of the Jardín de la Infància, respectively.
The Tocs de Vi de l'Empordà exhibition in Girona includes fifteen tastings of DO Empordà wines in emblematic buildings and spaces of the city from June 10 to 14. The Girona History Museum is joining this initiative, and on Tuesday, June 10, at seven in the evening, you can enjoy a tasting to discover the wines of the Celler Espelt, from Vilajuïga (Alt Empordà) on the terrace and, simultaneously, a tasting of the wines of the Vinyes dels Aspres winery, from Cantallops (Alt Empordà) will also be offered inside the air raid shelter of the Jardín de la Infància. This proposal also includes the experience of a simulated air raid and the screening of the audiovisual "Hidden under the ground. Witnesses of the Civil War in Girona".
Places for both tastings have sold out.
Tocs de Vi de l’Empordà in Girona also schedules thirteen tastings of Empordà wines in emblematic spaces of the city. This year, two new spaces are being added: the Ferros d'Arts Cadenas store and El Modern. Audiovisual and Digital Center, which will host a very special tasting to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the creation of the DO Empordà Regulatory Council - which will have a special price of €25. It will be a journey through the history of the DO Empordà through wines that have left their mark. In addition to the new locations, Tocs de Vi de l’Empordà in Girona offers tastings in regular spaces, such as the Cloister of the Monastery of St. Pere de Galligans, the Arab Baths, the Casa Masó, the Girona Art Museum or the History Museum. These activities cost €12.
Within the program of tastings in unique spaces, two sessions of the proposal The wines of the unknown Girona are also scheduled, on Friday, June 13 and Saturday, June 14, with an itinerary through the Old Town that allows you to rediscover the hidden Girona through the DO Empordà and Romina Ribera de Glops d’Història, an archaeologist and sommelier who loves the history of wine. These sessions are priced at €15.
The program of tastings in emblematic spaces of the city means, on the one hand, extending the event beyond its central core, the Devesa de Girona, to reinforce knowledge of the monumental values of the city and generate activity in the museums, and on the other hand, it gives the wineries the opportunity to show their products in a more didactic and attractive way, as well as carrying out a more in-depth prescriptive task.
Tocs de Vi de l'Empordà in Girona is organized by the DO Empordà with the support of the Girona City Council, and the European Fund for Rural Development and the Department of Agriculture, Food and Rural Action of the Generalitat de Catalunya.
