La Mercè Centre Cultural reproduce the collective exhibition "In our life" presented at ESPAIS in 1990 to mark the centre's third anniversary. While waiting for a congratulatory response for the third anniversary, some fifty artistwho have collaborated with ESPAIS over the last three years werw invited to participate. All of them werw given a box, two blank books and twenty-four transparent methacrylate cubes. Using the materials, the artists were completely free to manipulate them and turn them into an artisitic object with no limits in terms of tecniques or materials.

This year, the thirty-seventh anniversary of Espais would be celebrated, and on the occasion of the exhibition "ESPAIS, an artistic phenomenon. A journey through contemporary art in Catalonia (1987-2010)", we want to remember the event again, through a retrospective exhibition at the La Mercè Cultural Center, of what the exhibition "In your life" meant and of its repercussion in the present day. Let's relive this past; making it present and commemorating again the work done by this Art Center through the same exercise of free expression that they carried out in 1990; again, a file box, a blank book and transparent cubes. And just as the artists participating in the "En vida vostra" call did in 1990 at the ESPAIS Foundation, the students of the Municipal School of Art and the INS Santiago Sobrequés were invited to create a artistic object from these materials.
