The materials from the exhibition carried out by the Library of the University of Girona are shown. Starting from the files of thirteen teachers from the Exiled Teaching Fund of Catalonia, as a result of the research of Professor Salomó Marquès, documentary sources and bibliography of each of the teachers have been searched, making them available online. With the data, two maps have been created with the routes of exile, an interactive digital map also available online, and the exhibition map. For each teacher, Marquès has prepared a brief biography and from these texts, timelines have been extracted, which are accompanied by images of the teachers.
We have chosen thirteen of these teachers with different profiles who worked in different populations and who, because of the dictatorship, had to leave the country and live in exile in different countries. Some came back, others didn't. They are clear testimony of the educational progress of the republican years, especially the years of peace.
Knowing the testimony of these women, their human and professional category, is a stimulus to move forward in favor of a co-educational school.
You can consult online or download all the materials made for the exhibition in DUGiDocs (Institutional Repository of the University of Girona) [Virtual exhibition] .
