An activity to discover the popular imagery of the city, its traditions, and legends.
In the display window of the Imagery at the Girona History Museum (Museu d'Història de Girona), you will find throughout the year the fifteen figures that have been preserved from the old local festive imagery. These include the giants (the King and Queen), the four pairs of capgrossos (the Citizen and Beneta of the Força, the Merchant and the Argentera, the Merdisser and Marieta of the Cols, the Ballester and Pericota), and the Esquivamosques. Along with the Tarlà and the Eagle, as well as the capgrossos (the Tricorni and the Woman with the Coif).
A replica exists for each figure, and all (except for the Tricorni and the Woman with the Coif) continue to actively participate in the parades.
The activity begins with a guided tour of the MHG display window (entry), which is complemented by a hands-on workshop related to these figures, held in the multipurpose space (ground floor).
Maximum capacity: 20 people (children + accompanying adults)
The activity will be held with a minimum of 5 participants.
Organized by: Girona History Museum. Girona City Council. Activity aimed at: Edunautes students of 2nd grade from the primary schools in Girona
